Japanese Egg Tofu with Bonito Flakes by Lena Lai


Ingredients
2 japs egg tofu, cut into 8pcs. Buy those tat r firmer.
3 ½ packet of bonito flakes (small individually packed packets)

Plain Flour
1 egg beaten
Some sesame seeds

Garnishing:
10g Spring Onion or Chives (chopped)
10g Roasted Seaweed Shreds


Sauce:
Japanese Soy Sauce


Method
1. Cut the jap tofu in the center, remove the plastic, cut into 2 cylinders each half. You will get total 8 cylinders of tofu.
2. Pat dry tofu pieces and handle with care.
3. Coat first with flour, then egg, bonito flakes and sesame seeds.
4. Pan fry top bottom & sides hot oil till crispy
5. Garnish with seaweed strips and spring onions. I put chilli too.
6. Warm up in a microwave the Japanese soy sauce mixed with some water and sugar, n pour to the bottom of the plate n serve.
