Beer Batter Onion Rings by Michelle Heng




Ingredients:
2 medium yellow onions
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
150g all-purpose flour
1/2 to 3/4 can beer

Method:
1. Combine egg yolks, salt, pepper, flour and oil in a big bowl.
2. Whisk in the beer gradually.
3. Refrigerate the batter for 1/2 a day before using.
4. Slice onions cross sectionally into rings; separate rings and dip in the batter.
5. Deep fry in batches until golden brown.
6. May further sprinkle either salt or pepper to suit one's taste.
