Sweet & Sour Pork 咕噜肉 by Angela Seah Thulin



Ingredients -
300g bite size pork meat (tenderloin, shoulder butt)
1 yellow onion
1/2 small red capsicum
1/2 small yellow capsicum
1/2 of the Cucumber
1 tbsp minced garlic (opt)
Fruits: lychee or pineapple of your choice (opt)

Marinating the meat -
1/3 tsp salt
1 tsp soy sauce
1 egg white
Dash of pepper
1 tbsp tapioca flour

Sauce -
3 tbsp tomato sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp plum sauce (LKK)
1 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 salt
5 tbsp water
2 tbsp white vinegar (opt)

Steps -
1. Prep the marinating, set aside for two hours.
2. Then 30 mins before frying, coat the ready meat (above point 1) with 4 tbsp cornflour.
3. Heat up oil and deep fried (point 2) till cooked.
4. Heat up 1 tbsp of oil, sauté garlic, then the onion and capsicum until fragrant.
5. Pour in the prepared sauce. Bring to a boil. Pour in the fried pork earlier. Mix well to coat the pork with sauce evenly.
6. Add cucumber and fruits if any. Mix well together again and done!
